Recently, GDD Steel successfully completed the loading and shipment of a batch of stainless steel bars. The total order volume is approximately 120 tons, and the cargo is being transported by sea to Manila, Philippines, with an estimated transit time of around 15 days to the customer’s facility.As shown at the loading site, the stainless steel bars were sorted by specification and securely loaded into containers to ensure stability during transportation. In steel exports, container loading may seem straightforward, but every detail plays an important role in ensuring the products arrive at the customer’s facility in perfect condition.
The project took nearly two months from initial contact to final order confirmation. In April, GDD Steel’s sales team connected with a Philippine mechanical parts manufacturer through Facebook. The customer was looking for a reliable long-term supplier of stainless steel bars for the production of industrial shafts and mechanical components. During the sourcing process, the company also requested quotations from suppliers in China, India, and South Korea.
After several rounds of communication, the GDD Steel team recommended suitable 304 stainless steel bar specifications based on the customer’s machining requirements and provided material test certificates, production videos, and previous export cases. To further build confidence, samples were also sent to the customer for evaluation.After receiving the samples, the customer conducted machining, cutting, and surface inspection tests. All results met their technical requirements. The two parties then held several video meetings to finalize product specifications, packaging requirements, and delivery schedules, eventually reaching a cooperation agreement.
This order was conducted under the widely used FOB (Free On Board) trade term. GDD Steel was responsible for manufacturing, quality inspection, export packaging, customs clearance, and all procedures before loading the cargo onto the vessel, while the customer handled ocean freight arrangements and customs clearance at the destination port. This cooperation model helps ensure efficient supply while giving the customer greater flexibility in logistics planning.
Throughout production, GDD Steel strictly followed the customer’s requirements and implemented quality control measures at every stage, from raw material procurement to final inspection. On the day of loading, the sales and warehouse teams jointly verified quantities, specifications, and packaging details to ensure every stainless steel bar met the agreed standards.
“Customers are usually cautious when placing their first order, so the first shipment is always critical,” said the overseas sales manager responsible for the project. “This is not just a transaction; it marks the beginning of a long-term partnership. The customer is already discussing a follow-up purchase plan of approximately 400 tons.”
