GDD Steel Ships 320 Tons of Carbon Steel Pipes to East Africa for Industrial Park Construction

2026-09-18

Recently, a batch of approximately 320 tons of carbon steel pipes and rectangular structural tubes from GDD Steel completed production, inspection, and loading, and is now on its way to East Africa. These steel products will be used for a supporting construction project in a local industrial park, mainly serving the construction of factory steel structures, equipment supports, warehouse facilities, and other auxiliary structures.

At the loading site, neatly organized and bundled black carbon steel pipes can be seen stacked on flatbed trucks. The round steel pipes and rectangular structural tubes were loaded separately according to different specifications and secured with steel straps, support brackets, and other fastening measures. For long steel pipes, loading is not simply a matter of “putting them on the truck.” The length, weight, and stacking method of different products can all affect stability during transportation. Therefore, before loading, the GDD team plans the loading sequence in advance based on the cargo dimensions and transportation route, helping to reduce movement, collision, and friction during transit.

The products in this order mainly include carbon steel round pipes, black carbon steel structural tubes, and rectangular/square structural tubes. Round steel pipes are mainly used for equipment supports, auxiliary piping, and certain structural connections, while rectangular and square structural tubes are more commonly used for factory frames, platforms, guardrails, and warehouse structures. Compared with simply purchasing one type of steel product, industrial projects of this kind usually require multiple specifications to work together. As a result, customers pay particular attention to the completeness of specifications, dimensional consistency, and stability between different production batches.

This is also an aspect that GDD Steel pays close attention to when communicating with overseas customers. For industrial projects, the steel itself is only one part of the entire procurement process. What customers are really concerned about often includes whether the products can be manufactured according to drawings and material lists, whether different specifications can be arranged together, whether the packaging is suitable for long-distance ocean transportation, and whether the cargo will be easy to unload and further process after arriving at the destination port.

During the production of this order, GDD Steel confirmed the specifications, lengths, quantities, and packaging requirements item by item according to the product list provided by the customer. After production, the steel pipes were inspected for appearance, dimensions, wall thickness, and quantity, while products with different specifications were classified and clearly identified. For long-distance export transportation, special attention was also given to the protection of the pipe ends and the bundling method to minimize the risk of visible impact or damage during handling and ocean transportation.

After inspection, the cargo was transported to the port in batches and shipped by sea to Dar es Salaam. Considering the project-based demand for structural steel materials in the East African region, this shipment was not simply an off-the-shelf purchase. Instead, production and delivery were arranged according to the project’s construction schedule. This approach allows the customer to control inventory while receiving the required steel products step by step according to the construction plan.

For industrial park construction, steel products can be used in a wide range of applications. The main factory buildings require structural materials, equipment installation requires supporting frames, warehouse areas need racks and platform structures, while internal factory facilities may also involve walkways, guardrails, and various auxiliary structures. Although these structures may not appear complicated, once construction begins, any deviation in specifications can affect subsequent cutting, welding, and installation. Therefore, consistent dimensions and a reliable supply capability are often more important than simply pursuing the lowest price for a single batch.

The 320 tons of steel products exported by GDD Steel were delivered based on these practical requirements. From specification confirmation with the customer to production scheduling, quality inspection, classified packaging, and container/truck loading, every step was organized around the final application of the products. What we hope to provide is not only steel pipe products, but also a supply service that can work smoothly with the procurement schedule of overseas projects.

As more industrial, warehousing, and infrastructure projects enter the construction stage, overseas demand for carbon steel pipes and structural steel products is becoming increasingly diverse. For buyers, working with a supplier that can provide multiple steel specifications while maintaining stable coordination throughout production, inspection, packaging, and export transportation can help reduce the communication costs involved in managing multiple supply channels. For GDD Steel, every export shipment is not only a batch of products traveling from China to overseas markets, but also a practical test of product quality, delivery capability, and service processes. GDD Steel will continue to provide overseas industrial projects with carbon steel pipes, structural tubes, and other steel products, starting from customers’ actual applications and focusing on specification confirmation, production inspection, and export delivery, so that every shipment can reach the project site more smoothly.
